Medium-bodied with a velvety texture and a beautiful translucent garnet color, this zesty Zinfandel bursts with generous aromas and flavors. Raspberry, black cherry, boysenberry and plum accented with perfumed hints of pepper, anise, mint and cedar exude on the nose. The mouth is filled with bright jammy flavors of cranberry, cherry and cassis followed by a sweet vanilla chaser. Ripe tannins and firm acidity focus the palate and provide a long peppery finish.

Taste:
Herbaceous and slightly earthy, with a juicy raspberryish nose. Fresh, vibrant, and focused with enough tannins and plenty of fruit set off with adequate agricultural elements including a hint of Dr. Pepper.
Region:
As Amador County’s preeminent grape, Zinfandel cultivation here dates back to the days of the California Gold Rush when Italian immigrants sought their fortune in the ruggedly beautiful Old West.
Winemaking:
A portion of the Zinfandel was aged in neutral oak (1-2 years old.) Syrah, fermented in stainless steel, lends acidity and just the right amount of weight to make it a more substantial blend.
Varietal:
82% Zinfandel, 12% Amador County Zinfandel, 6% Syrah
