David Cohen, Executive Vice President and Co-Owner, Standard Oil of Connecticut, Inc.
David Cohen is Executive Vice President and co-owner of Standard Oil of Connecticut, Inc. Standard Oil is one of the oldest and largest heating oil companies in Connecticut serving all of Fairfield and New Haven counties. Last year, Standard Oil won all four first place awards from the Connecticut Better Business Bureau for marketplace ethics, consumer education, web site marketing and superior service. Standard Oil was also one of five finalists, along with eBay, CarMax and Kraft Foods, for the International Better Business Bureau awards.
Mr. Cohen is the founder of Standard Security Systems (one of Connecticut’s largest home security companies) and of ResCom Energy (one of Connecticut’s leading deregulated electricity suppliers). Mr. Cohen serves on the board of directors for Betatronix, InCytu, Imedx, SOMS Technologies, and The Traveling Vineyard. Mr. Cohen is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Business School. Mr. Cohen lives in Easton, Connecticut with his wife Nancy and three children, Jessica (18), Jeffrey (16) and Peter (14).
B. Anthony Isaac, President, Lodgeworks, L.P.
LodgeWorks President Tony Isaac previously served as President of the All-Suites Division of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. He also was President of Summerfield Hotel Corporation from May 1988 until Summerfield’s June 1998 merger with Patriot American Hospitality/Wyndham International.
Prior to his employment at Summerfield, Tony helped build the Residence Inn brand into a leader in profitability and customer satisfaction as Senior Vice President Operations and, later, as Executive Vice President.
Before joining The Residence Inn Company, Tony served in various positions at Marriott Corporation from 1981 through 1985. He led Marriott’s feasibility department during the introduction of the Courtyard by Marriott brand and as head of new business development, negotiated the acquisition of a leading time-share company. He later was promoted to Vice President and General Manager of Marriott’s Vacation Ownership division. Tony graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a degree in civil engineering and received his M.B.A. from Harvard University Graduate School of Business Administration. Tony is a member of the Kansas chapter of Senior Presidents’ Organization.
Dr. Bruce Isaacson, President and CEO, MMR Strategy Group
Dr. Bruce Isaacson has extensive expertise in marketing, strategy, and executive education. Before joining MMR, he served as the West Coast Practice Leader of Executive Development for Monitor Group, an international firm specializing in strategy and executive education. Earlier in his career, he was a marketing and strategy consultant at The Boston Consulting Group.
Bruce has spent much of his career in industry, serving as a general manager at a publicly traded data processing company, a division president at a software and media services company, and vice president responsible for marketing and strategy at a national financial services company.
Earlier, he was a Dean’s Doctoral Fellow at Harvard Business School, where he wrote 14 publications on marketing and strategy. He has taught marketing and strategy for many executive groups and in the executive MBA program at Babson College. He received research awards from Penn State and Harvard University, and is on the editorial board of the Journal of Business to Business Marketing.
Bruce holds both MBA and Doctor of Business Administration degrees from Harvard Business School, where he graduated with highest distinction as a Baker Scholar. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from Northwestern University.
Bruce is a frequent speaker at conferences and at client events on topics relating to customers, brands, products, and strategy.
Rick Libby, President Phoenix Vintners, LLC d/b/a The Traveling Vineyard
Rick is President of Phoenix Vintners, LLC d/b/a The Traveling Vineyard. Rick acquired The Company in the fall of 2010. Previous to this position Rick was Managing Director of CBORD Groups Off Campus Commerce Division serving over 600 College and University Campuses with student facing commerce programs including UGryd, the leading off campus payment program and Student Advantage, the leading higher education student discount program.
Prior to Rick’s position at CBORD he was Chief Marketing Officer of Geerlings & Wade, America’s leading direct marketer of fine wine and wine accessories, and President of the company’s Traveling Vineyard division which he founded as an employee of Geerlings & Wade in 2001. Prior to Geerlings & Wade, Rick served as President of MoveCentral. Under his leadership the company made the Inc. 500 Fastest Growing Companies list twice and was acquired by Monster.com in August 2000.
Previously, Rick worked for Cendant Corporation, as head of marketing for its one billion dollar travel operation and ultimately was responsible for creating new channels within the organization. Rick started his career with the Marriott Corporation, where he spent 18 years in sales and marketing and was involved in the start-up and rapid growth phases for Residence Inns and Summerfield Suites.
Vincent Villano, Managing Director & Founder, Clarus Marketing Group
Vincent Villano is the Managing Director and founder of Clarus Marketing Group. An experienced strategic marketer and seasoned business professional, Mr. Villano has over 20 years of industry experience focused on market development, direct marketing, advertising, and business development.
Prior to founding Clarus Marketing Group, Mr. Villano held positions in both fortune 500 corporations as well as start-up companies. As Vice President of Business Development for Debix Systems, a start-up firm focusing on pre-paid debit card technology, Mr. Villano led the strategic market development initiatives, as well as corporate capital raising and business planning efforts. As SVP of Marketing for Cendant Corporation, Mr. Villano was responsible for all direct marketing and marketing development initiatives for Cendant Membership Services, leading a team of over 100 marketing professionals and launching hundreds of direct marketing programs. As a leader in the membership services industry, Mr. Villano was instrumental in growing Cendant’s membership enrollments for services such as Shoppers Advantage, Privacy Guard, Travelers Advantage and NetMarket.com.
