Black Trumpet Teroldego

2022 – Sustainably grown

Get to know Traveling Vineyard's first 100% Teroldego, sustainably grown in Lodi California. Black Trumpet is a vibrant, refreshing red bursting with juicy blackberry flavors. An excellent bottle to have on hand for summer barbecues, or picnics in the park pairing wonderfully with a charcuterie spread of cured meats, olives, and parmesan cheese or grilled pizza, burgers, and Italian sausage. Our grower described it on the palate flavor-wise as a love-child of Syrah and Zinfandel. Our Director of Wine explains, "the wine looks like Guinness while drinking more like Coors Light." A lovely summer food-friendly red to clink glasses and make memories.

Beautiful Traditional Red Wine

I must admit I did not know a lot about Teroldego when I tried this wine for the first time last evening. I was amazed and blown away by the great balance of taste tannins and mouth feel of this wine. The blackberry notes and taste in my opinion were the strongest and the tannins were very good but not overwhelming. I love the garnet color as well, which made it look as good as it was in my glass. We tried it with our Memorial weekend Sunday Low Country Shrimp Boil and it was a huge hit with everyone. We had also cooked some hamburgers on the grill and this wine paired beautifully with them. I give it a huge thumbs up, it is everything I expect and wanted in an all around red wine!
