Zeffer Hills Chardonnay

2018 – Dry, rich, medium-full bodied

Brilliant lemon-yellow with a slight green tinge; medium-to-full body. White flowers, golden delicious apple over pear nose, hints of tropical fruits, nuts and minerals. Fresh acidity, good weight, feel and extraction—vibrant apple & pear over a nutty note, plus traces of tropical fruits, citrus and toast flavors, longer-than-expected finish.

Pressed, then one-half of this component was aged on-the-lees in stainless steel, one-half in oenotanks as of early January 2019. The Lodi component was sorted and de-stemmed, alcoholic fermentation occurred in temperature-controlled rotary fermenters then malolactic fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel, where it remained for aging.
