2018 – Medium-to-full bodied red

Garnet in the glass; medium-to-full body. Slightly herbaceous nose of tree bark floats above black everything else—black fruit, black black earth, touches of black pepper and smoke over earthy black currant/cassis with a hint of milk chocolate. Textbook in the mouth; good structure, weight, feel and extraction— juicy, jammy varietal fruit dominates.

Our dominant 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon component was machine picked, sorted, de-stemmed and crushed, followed by cold soaking, alcoholic fermentation, extended maceration, then malolactic fermentation. Pressing before starting aging in oenotanks by early January 2019. Two small 2018 Lodi Cabernet Sauvignon lots totaling 15.15% from trusted growers known industry-wide for the price/value ratio of their wines, balance the blend's acidity and further rounds out the wine's mid-palate. Final blend, including a small piece of Petite Sirah, was assembled just prior to bottling.
