I never would have predicted the fun, friendships and financial reward in my future when I said, “What do I have to lose?” to the idea of being a wine guide with Traveling Vineyard. I didn’t have wild dreams, I had small plans. I held a launch event three years ago and then hosted the wine tastings that were booked that night, and then the wine tastings booked from those.

Month by month, I shared wine in my friends’ homes and their friends’ homes. People joined me because it looked like fun, and people joined them. Since that night in October of 2015, I have earned two fabulous trips and am working toward the third; I’ve enjoyed the rush that comes from crushing goals; I’ve made great friends that I wasn’t looking for and can’t imagine life without. I’m truly enjoying the best career of my life and am grateful. Wineward and upward!

I can hardly believe I just celebrated my two-year anniversary with this awesome company! My first year was spent in a whirlwind of learning, organizing, succeeding, (failing sometimes, too), and growing. This past year became more about MY goals, MY successes, My growing pains, and especially not comparing myself to others. I feel like I not only have just touched the surface of all I can learn about the amazing world of Wine, but I have grown as a person as a whole. I have not only experienced the Fun, Flexibility, Friendships, and Financial Rewards this business brings, but I feel I am growing into being more Fulfilled. This comes from learning to deal with all kinds of people, even the rude and negative ones. This comes from knowing my failures don’t define me, or that not reaching a goal doesn’t mean I haven’t gotten closer to it. Continuing is better than quitting and consistency is better than starting over. I love the #workhardbekind motto and strive every day to be a good representative of such a great company! #lovethewineguidelife #findingfulfillment #livingthefwords

This weekend marked my one year #wineaversary with Traveling Vineyard! I can’t even express how much fun this job has been and how thankful I am for everyone I’ve met along the way. I have met so many new people and made so many new friends. Not to mention I’ve tried tons of new wines! #wineguidelife #bestjobever

Joining Traveling Vineyard was the best decision I made. I was nervous at first to start a direct sales business in fear that no one would want to book tastings with me. I was WRONG! Since joining Traveling Vineyard, I have made so many friends that have I have been so close with. Friendships that will last a lifetime! Everyone in the company is so supportive and wants to see you succeed. I can always count on my team and upline to help me whenever I need it. What I love most about this company is the flexibility. You work when you want. I have another business, so I am not always able to do a lot of tasting when that is busy, so being able to work tasting when I want, helps out a lot. If you are thinking about joining this business or are on the fence about it, TAKE THE CHANCE!! Do it, I promise it will be the best decision you made as well! Traveling Vineyard provides you with the best trainings and education to help you succeed! I can't wait to see where my future takes me in this business.

I’m so grateful for this opportunity. What I’ve gained in the two years I’ve been a wine guide is priceless. The financial reward has been a blessing in itself but the friendships are more than I imagined when I first started! I fall in love with being a wine guide daily. The flexibility it’s given me is wonderful. Very few second jobs let you tell them when YOU want to work. I could write a book on my love for Traveling Vineyard and being a wine guide but I’ll keep it short.

Traveling Vineyard and our wine family came into our lives at a time when we needed it most. Our family had just experienced a job loss, and were facing the reality of having to live in separate states in order to maintain employment and to keep our home. Although we don't have children, our family, our neighbors, our community and friends are the most important thing to us. We were at risk of losing these things before Traveling Vineyard. #Wineguidelife gave us hope that we could not only continue to enjoy wine, but more importantly, supplement our family's income whilst searching for a new job locally. That was just the beginning! Our wine family has been motivating, supportive, and treated us like we've always been here. Our tasting events not only supplemented our income, but also introduced us to new friends, new neighbors, new wines, and new faith. After Harvest 2018 (our first Harvest), there's no stopping us now! We have a renewed energy to be the best we can be and to make the most of our wine business and our life! Thank you to Rick, the Cheerleaders, everyone at Traveling Vineyard for your love and support. Lastly, to Julie Porretta, the best Wine Mama we could ask for, thank you for introducing us to such a golden opportunity. Julie is a treasure in our life, and we wouldn't be here today without her friendship, love, and guidance! #wineguidelife rocks!!

In my three years with The Traveling Vineyard, I, like anyone else, have experienced ups and downs, as well as the speedbumps and curveballs of life. With my full time job, these experiences have been stressful and sometimes difficult to navigate in the corporate arena. But, with the flexibility of my wine business, there has been no added stress and I've been able to restructure my business around those issues. The ability to run my business around my schedule and lifestyle is not an option with most home based businesses. It is, however, with The Traveling Vineyard and one of the many things I love about being apart of this family. I still can't believe I get paid to do something so fun and fulfilling. Thank you TTV!!!

One year...already?!! The flexibility I have a wine guide blends so well with seasonal farm life. I am grateful to have this opportunity to share my love of wine with so many people. In the past year I have learned so much about wine and had fun sharing the things I have learned (and sharing wine ;). Best of all, I get paid to do what I love. Cheers to many more years! Love this "gig".

    Elaine Doyle-Gillespie
    Two Year Wineaversary - August 1, 2018

For this year’s testimonial, I have asked my family to tell me how being a part of Traveling Vineyard has changed our lives.

Ed (hubby): The culture of wine, its history, science, poetry and joy, have become part of our family’s story. We can discuss the synergy of this food and that wine. We can discuss these legs and that finish. While it used to be only I who embraced the grape in our home, now we can explore a unique and timeless world together.

Also, and this is most striking, I have seen the growth and self-empowerment of my wine guide wife. I have seen a drive and a confidence rise in her that is unparalleled by her other ventures. She handles logistics and communications, finance and a mastery of her subject matter that is rather astounding. She has grown by leaps and bound as she immersed herself in the world of Traveling Vineyard.

A healthy supply of wine, cool people, and a free trip to Cancun weren’t bad either! And to think, she didn’t even like wine before this.

Piper (6 year old): We have money to do stuff and you spend more time with me. (Explain) We play games and we have fun doing things. You drive me places and we can do things during the day. We spend quality time together. (Why can I?) You are home a lot more and not at your other job.

Me: I have a hard time expressing my feelings in words, especially when I feel overwhelmed with emotions. I joined TV at a very low point in my life. My job had been down-sized after I gave my heart and soul to it for 16 years. After months of searching and coming up empty, I decided to join TV after one of my former students posted about it. I didn’t know anything about wine and didn’t like it, but I knew many others who did. I needed something flexible and I needed a paycheck. I was only going to be a wine guide until I found my dream job. Within a few months, I realized that I had already found that dream job. I was an introvert who was actually interacting and getting joy from being with people. I kept learning more and more which led to successes and so much praise from the company. I became more confident which set a fire in me to reach even higher goals. I get to do so many things now with my daughter that I wasn’t able to do when I was a teacher/administrator. I have reconnected with people in my life and became friends with so many more. We are on our way to Harvest right now and I cannot wait to hug so many people on Thursday. Other than all that sappy stuff, it sure makes me smile to have all the fabulous wine, two LUXX getaways, Harvest, a new bike for my daughter, and cruises with my family that the wine guide life has given me.

Oh where do I begin....I absolutely love being a wine guide! I have learned so much about wine, and I have met so many great people. It is so much fun doing tasting events! I enjoy having the opportunity to share what Ive learned and my passion for the this business! Kudos to my wine Mama, Kiersten Ray-Kuhn, she is so wonderful and patient with me. My hope and dream is to build a team and keep my business growing. I am so inspired by other wine guides. With the 5 F's in mind, I would have to say Fulfillment is my number 1!! Sure I ve earned some "mad" money, but I love the friendships and flexibility as well.
Cheers! Here's to many more glasses of wine to share!
