Italy’s sunny south sends us this ruby red gem. Crafted 100% from the native Negroamaro grape, it boasts beautiful fragrances and flavors of red berries and cherries. A nose of blackcurrant beckons followed by blackberry and black cherry flavors with a hint of strawberry. Medium-full bodied with beautifully integrated tannins. A fruity yet earthy delight! Serve this Italian gem with dishes such as pasta with meat sauce and Parmigiano and Ricotta cheeses. It’s also delicious with breads, game and grilled meats. Keep 2-3 years. Soft fruity reds will lose their exuberance if kept too long.

Puglia (also known as Apuglia), the “heel” of the boot-shaped Italian peninsula, is sometimes called “Italy’s California” for its warm climate and fertile farmlands. The flat peninsula at its southern tip is known as Salento.
This wine was crafted using traditional vinification techniques. The must remained in contact with grape skins for 8-12 days. It was fermented in stainless steel and aged for six months in oak.
